This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of
Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers the requirements for liquid dyes which are added
to aircraft fuel systems to aid in the detection of fuel leaks (see 6.1).
1.2 Classification. Liquid dye will be of the following types as specified (see 6.2.)
Type I
Red
Type II
Yellow
Type III
Yellow/Green Fluorescent
