evaluation after award of contract when testing is performed by the Government.

6.4 Material Safety Data Sheets. Material Safety Data Sheets for the dye should be pre-
pared and submitted in accordance with Fed. Std. No. 313.
6.5 Certificate of Analysis. A certificate of analysis including all the requirements in
Table I should be prepared for the dye.
6.6 Supersession data. This document supersedes DOD --- D --- 51522 dated 20 May 1986.
6.7 Batch. A batch is defined as that quantity of material which has been manufactured
by some unit chemical process or subjected to some physical mixing operation intended to
make the final product substantially uniform.
6.8 Compatibility. Type I dye is provided for compatibility with pyrotechnic formulations
based on the original DOD --- D --- 51522 dye. Type II is provided for use with water based binders
in air type blenders.
6.9 Changes from previous issues. Marginal notations are not used in this revision to iden-
tify changes with respect to the previous issue due to the extent of the changes.
